What A Year It's Been For The RCA...

12:06

Starting from a squad of three, over the past 4 months The Revolution Cheerleading Academy has grown at an unprecedented rate and with a steady 20 members in the training class alone, big things are set for The RCA in 2016.

We opened our doors on September the 10th and were welcomed by no more than 5 eager faces to partake in The RCA's first ever class. Now fast forward to just last week when our studio doors saw over 25 beautiful cheerleaders walk in. Growing in numbers week upon week, The RCA are the new talk of the town and a cheer squad which everyone wants to be apart of.

Even though we may still be at the bottom of the pyramid; our passion, dedication and strive to be the best we can be will lead us to new heights that 2016 is bound to deliver.

So lets look back on the last 4 months and reflect on how the RCA has grown from a trio to a fully fledged family.

Started from the bottom now we're here...

Even before The Revolution Cheerleading Academy opened it's doors, we began working hard and performed at different events around the country.

Here you can see us performing at The Route 66 Show, a 2 day long spectacular event which happened right here in Dorset. The Hurn Bridge Show Ground was transformed into an American wonderland with fast cars, American cuisine and of course, us Cheerleaders who brought the American lifestyle to Dorset.

Our next performance saw us meet with the SuperSlam Wrestler's at Bournemouth's Pavilion Ballroom for the ultimate smackdown event. A night of showstopping smackdowns, splits and sass (from the Cheerleader's that is) we really showed the Wrestler's what we were made of and made it a night to remember.

We then turned our attention to expanding our squad and set out to scout for fresh talent. We took to Muscliff Family Fun Day with the aim to recruit potential RCA girls ready for our upcoming audition.

And then it was audition day and the very first day that The Revolution Cheerleading Academy would open it's doors for the first time, ever.

The Open Class was the first class to welcome eager performers to the studio and with 4 girls all ready and raring to go, the future for The RCA looked bright.

An hour later and things really started to heat up as the clock turned 7:30 and it was audition time!
With 5 successful candidates, the only way was up for The RCA.

Our first post-audition class saw the 5 successful members begin to learn the first ever RCA routine - all nervous but of course super excited.

Our next adventure saw us head to The Lost Paradise Bar in Bournemouth to try out their new Tapas Menu (which you can read all about here). We also took part in their promo video for their Halloween Ball where we Halloween-ed ourselves up to be dead zombie Cheerleaders.

Things were looking up for The RCA; hoodies were in stock, our Open Class was expanding and we were inundated with requests for another audition so guess what we did, yes that's right, we had to hold another audition.

This time around we welcomed 8 more successful candidates to our squad and that's when we really became #SquadGoals.

Next saw a few of The RCA girls head back to The Pavilion Ballroom and once again come face-to-face with the SuperSlam Wrestler's for a second round. Yet another spectacular night and an even more fabulous performance from the youngest (yet sassiest) members of the squad who shook more than just their pom pom's and showed the Wrestler's what The RCA was made of (read all about it here).

With more than 5 performances under our belts and a growing squad, we thought it would only be right to show Bournemouth what we had to offer and so we took to the Town Centre to help support the Poppy Appeal.

After rehearsing in Bournemouth Gardens, we made our way to The Square where we gathered a strong crowd all in honour of the service men and women who fought and continue to fight for our country. Check out our performance here.

Back inside the studio, the girls were all working super hard as always...

And then one wet Sunday in November saw The RCA girls head back to The Lost Paradise Bar where Christmas came a little bit early.

The Cocoloco Tribe and the team from Lost invited us down to take part in their Christmas promo video where we were lucky enough to have a taster session in Christmas cocktail making, a freshly cooked dinner and a surprise from none other than our friends and family who came to join in the celebrations with us.

Have a look at what we got up to here.

We then felt that it was only right to hold yet another audition and one which turned out to be our most successful one to date. With a 100% pass rate, all the auditionees demonstrated sheer talent, enthusiasm and RCA potential and we just couldn't wait to train with them!

Here are some snaps from our most recent training classes with our squad of 20!

Our most recent performance saw us take to the track at Ringwood Raceway where we performed our newest routine at Matcham's Banger event. Amid the banging and crashing of the cars, we showed the crowd what we were made of and definitely kept up with all the action on and off the track.

With all that already happening in the last 4 months since our studio doors opened, we can only expect big things to come for the RCA in 2016.

Watch out 2016, we're coming for ya ;)
